# Quanto Perpetuals

## Overview

Quanto.trade introduces a novel class of perpetual derivatives known as quanto perpetuals, where all trading pairs are denominated in the platform’s native token, $QTO, regardless of the underlying asset. In this model, the underlying asset is denominated in one currency, while the derivative itself is settled in another—enabling novel exposure and capital generation mechanisms. At the core of Quanto.trade’s infrastructure is the native token $QTO, which serves as the settlement currency for profits, losses, and liquidations.

By settling in $QTO rather than traditional stablecoins like USD, Quanto.trade addresses long-standing challenges inherent in portfolio margin systems. This includes enhanced flexibility in collateral composition and reduced dependency on external liquidity during stress events. Traders can utilize their entire portfolios—including volatile assets like meme coins—as margin, while benefiting from industry-leading loan-to-value (LTV) ratios.\
\
This enables users to deposit anything, and use it as collateral to trade any other asset on the market. \
